This March, ETS IT Solutions wants to take the time to discuss the importance of Women’s history month by showcasing its appreciation for women in STEM. Micayla, a member of the company is a recent Computer Science graduate from St. Joseph’s University in Patchogue, NY. In a program made up of predominately men, Micayla felt more compelled to the industry and was inspired by successful women in STEM who defied all societal odds. Graduating with a 4.0, she felt confident in her skills moving forward into her career.

Micayla’s always had a fascination with technology since she was young. When she graduated with her degree, she knew she wanted to pursue a lifelong career in the tech field, but she wasn’t quite sure where she wanted the field to take her. She was really inspired by the recent uptake of the demand for cybersecurity and decided to explore the different paths she could take. Even though she felt compelled to the computer science industry, she knew women in STEM are often underestimated in their work. This was something that was both motivating and terrifying to her, especially when it came to applying for jobs. “Being a woman in STEM means embracing challenges head-on and proving that skill and dedication matter more than outdated expectations,” Micayla says. “I want to inspire other young women to confidently pursue careers in technology, knowing that they belong here just as much as anyone else.” At ETS IT Solutions, we celebrate the impact of women in technology and strive to support an inclusive industry. This Women’s History Month, we recognize not only Micayla’s contributions but also the many women shaping the future of IT and cybersecurity.
